    Developing Tweetburner user accounts!

Posted by Bob Jansen on September 5, 2008 at 11:46 am

In the past days we’ve been working on user accounts for Tweetburner. With the FriendFeed integration coming up, there are some technical improvements we need to make so everything will work fine.

Why Tweetburner user accounts all suddenly?
Introducing our own user accounts is something that has been on the roadmap for quite some time. As it’s a big update we first want to focus on integrating more webservices to make Tweetburner more relevant. While we were investigating some bugs found in the FriendFeed integration, we saw that introducing user accounts was necessary to solve the bugs.

Until the day we introduce Tweetburner accounts, the service will rely strongly on Twitter. This means that our scripts use Twitter to track links. Technically there will be changes, but the experience for our users will remain the same.

Next week the changes will be ready. We’ll keep you informed through our blog. If you have question, please feel free and let us know!
